Condition
A striking model of good overall appearance. The ivory has some surface dirt overall. There are some hairline cracks to the ivory, particularly to the arms, but the face and stomach are in good condition. There is also some minor discolouration, as seen on the hands in the illustration. Joints slightly loose. Plinth has a few very minor chips, particularly to the lower edges. Some traces of glue, which suggests restoration, such as to the left foot. One heel is lacking and the other is slightly ill-fitting. Patina is of a slightly greener tint than the catalogue illustration suggests. Some blue and green patination retained nicely on the jewelling. A well cast example of this desirable model.
Please note that this lot contains ivory which may be subject to export and import restrictions. For example, ivory cannot be imported into the United States. Your attention is drawn to the Endangered Species section in the Guide for Prospective Buyers at the back of the catalogue (Section 4).
