Description

  • 2ft 4¼in., 2ft 10¼in.
beech, table partly rosewood veneered and brass, the octagonal table top on a matching graduating stepped tapering base with a lobed foot surrounded by a brass band, the chairs upholstered in cream velvet

Condition

A decorative group of good overall appearance. With old marks and scratches in places commensurate with age. Table: The piece has been re-varnished and have a high-gloss finish. Top with some stronger scratching to one side and adjacent corner. Each covering an area of circa 2-3cm. Veneer slightly warped and one or two cracks in places but this has been stabilised by the varnish. Brass with one or two knocks and blemishes commensurate with age. Chairs: With a faux rosewood finish. Pieces have been re-upholstered and show traces of former rush seats to undersides. One small spot to one backrest. Edges slightly worn but now re-polished. Some knocks in places. Some nailheads protruding. An attractive set ready for use.
