glass, the ovoid body supported by three cherubs
Provenance
Previously in the collection of Georges Charbonneaux
Exhibited
Retrospective Exhibition, Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris, 1933.
Condition
As compared with the drawing in Marcilhac, the rim of this vase is shorter. There is a fine crack around the body of one cherub where the figure may have been detached from the waist down and to the foot of this figure. Another figure has some repair to its legs and feet and there is a granular deposit of glass beneath one wing on this figure. This deposit would have been there at the time of manufacture. The third figure has a small bruise to one foot. There are some typical bubbles visible within the glass. Further photographs are available on request. Despite some issues with condition, this is an attractive and unusual, well modelled vase.
