Description
- A five piece 'Blossom' tea service
- each piece stamped to underside with 'Denmark', 'Georg Jensen / Silversmiths Ltd', 'Sterling' and '2D', sides stamped with maker's hallmark, '925', 'N', tray slightly different, some pieces with British silver import marks
- tray: 56.5cm. wide;
- 1ft 10¼in.
silver coloured metal and carved ivory, comprising: teapot, hot water pot, sugar bowl and milk jug, the three covers with a bud finial
Condition
With some old marks and scratches, particularly to tray, though the hammered finish largely disguises the stratching to its top. Ivory with typical minor natual cracking and some natural discolouration but overall very good. Hot water jug only piece without hammered finish.
Marks are as follows:
Hot water jug/coffee pot with the Jensen mark for circa 1933-44, 'Sterling Denmark 925S 2D' and with British import marks on body and cover for 1935
Teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl stamped 'Georg Jensen Silversmiths Ltd Denmark Sterling 2D' and with British import marks for 1948
Tray with the Jensen post-1945 mark and 'Q10 Denmark Sterling 2E 925S'
