Description
- a pair of boxwood figures of two of the Fathers of the Church
finely carved, the seated figures with billowing drapery about their knees, one holding a scroll, the other St. Augustine with foot resting on books and holding with his left hand a model rotunda (2)
Condition
Overall condition good.
St Augustin: the upper section of his right-hand index finger is missing and the little finger has been reattached. Fine vertical fissure extends from the top of his mitre to his feet as is visible in the photograph.
The other father has had his upper section of left-hand index finger reattached and lower section of little finger missing (barely visible). Minor chips to drapery.
