Description

  • A gold and gem-set ring brooch
of circular section with six collets set alternatively with sapphires and garnets within scrolls of foliage, one sapphire replaced

Provenance

Ringwood, Hampshire, found in 1995

Condition

As mentioned in the catalogue entry, one sapphire has been replaced: the replaced sapphire is the one at seven o'clock in the catalogue photograph. The pin which was slightly bent when excavated has been straightened. Minor scratches and wear consistent with age.
