- A wood relief of Saint Francis receiving the stigmata
the relief centred by Saint Francis with arms outstretched, the background with a forest and monastic buildings, a monk with a book to the right, two monks walking to the left, on velvet base
Condition
This spirited relief is now mounted on a velvet covered board. There is a vertical fissure (which has been partially repaired) which extends from Saint Francis' neck through his body to the bottom of the relief. There is worming and general wear throughout. There is a repair to his foot which has been painted. There is particular rubbing evident on Saint Francis' face.
