Description

  • height 83 cm
22-cm gilt ornate relief dial with blue cartouche Roman numerals, movement signed C. Detouche A Paris with anchor escapement and countwheel striking on a bell, sunburst pendulum, shaped boulle inlaid case surmounted by the gilt personification of Luna, adorned throughout with gilt bronze scrolls and relief, the arched glazed door with a pierced gilt ornament depicting a seated lady with flowers, the whole raised on scrolled feet

Condition

numeral XI with hairline cracks and now glued instead of fixed with dial foot, hands with slight corrosion, movement able to function and in fair condition, might need a clean, now with a handy later dust cover, case very dirty and therefore difficult to establish the condition of the gilding, the tortoiseshell inlay with some small pieces loose to the side but in reasonable condition, front glass panel with crack and needs to be repelaced, attribute of top figure lacking, together with a winder, pendulum and doorkey
