Description

  • height 44cm
replaced 12-cm enamel dial with Roman numerals, gilt pierced hands, flat bottomed countwheel bell striking anchor movement with silk suspended pendulum, drum case surmounted by a patinated bon sauvage personifying Africa holding her bow and resting her feet on a tortoise, flanked by a panther, oval base with an applied reliefs with hunting putti and garlands, mounted on a later moulded wooden plinth, imperfections

Condition

dial with small chip at right winding hole and above XI, dial of later date but made for this clock, three unidentified holes indicate that there was an earlier dial, hands dirty but alright, movement dirty and all wheels there, should be able to function but needs to be fully overhauled, pendulum associated and not right for the silk thread suspension, crutch broken, case dirty, the patinated parts a little pale, gilding seems to be alright, quiver lacking, arrow lacking, feet lacking, wooden base of later date replacing the lacking feet, together with a pendulum and winder
