Description

  • crossed swords in underglaze blue, incised No: 572., the clock stamped 163., the base 54.
  • total height ca. 52cm.
the flower encrusted clock throning on a rocky ground, with three peasant figures with flower garland, fruit basket and a flute, surmounted by another figure with flower garland; with a Rocaille shaped base with flower encrusted corners, painted with flower sprays and small insects; the clockwork with enamelled dial later and not matching

Condition

the clock: usual damages and losses to flowers and leaves, three flowers replaced (not porcelain) but hardly visible, right foot and arm of middle figure restored, left hand of flute player restored, very left figure restored, right figure: fingers of left hand chipped; the clock in non-working condition; the base: usual chips and losses, one ornament at front lower right restored and overpainted, partly missing, some of the flowers replaced (not porcelain), some imperfections to the glaze
