Condition

The painting is slightly warmer in tone than the catalogue illustration. The panel is flat and cradled. There are numerous minor horizontal splits to the lower quarter. The paint surface, which has been quite recently cleaned and varnish, is in fairly good condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals some strenthening to the sky and some more minor slightly discoloured retouchings. Offered in a faux tortoise shell and wood frame in quite good condition some chips.
