Catalogue Note

Jean-Louis Gregoire was the son of a ciseleur which perhaps accounts for the high quality chiseled finish of his bronze figures. He started to exhibit at the Salon in 1867. The most familiar models by him are L'Allegro, Mozart infant, and the busts of Alsace and La Lorraine.
