Description

  • 192gr. all in, width 7.4 and 8.5cm.
of oval shape, with the image of Stadholder William V of Holland, engraved with floral patterns and inscribed with PRINS WILLEM DE VIJFDE, Jacob Abraham Barbie, 1785; together with a snuffbox of oval shape, the cover inlaid with wood and applied with a renaissance pattern and cartouches, inhabited by a jester, the reverse with the engraving of a butterfly and a caterpillar within the inscription HET LAAGE VERHOOGT A*1766 surounded by floral engravings, Amsterdam, Hendrina Das, 1748

Condition

the first one in reasonably good condition, slightly worn, the second one, the hinged lid with traces of gilding, the engraved reverse with one scratch at the lower right, both with scratches of use
