Description

  • 51cm high
painted with a phoenix in a continuous garden scene with rocks and foliage, the shoulder with a stylised palmette and lotus leaf border and stiff leaf band, the domed cover with knop

Provenance: Haupt-Inventar der Königlichen Marienburg, Vol. I and II, 1906/1907, inv.no. 367/ 2 and 367/3 and a blue -edged inventory label with no. 340.

Condition

The blue glaze very strong in color and burned through in numerous places, numerous small pits and sand inclusions in the glaze, glaze along the base rim burned, chip and glaze flaw to the finial of the cover.
