Description

  • height 73cm
23-cm gilt ornate relief dial with blue cartouche Roman numerals, centre signed Louis Brulefer A Paris, movement with five knopped pillars, verge escapement and countwheel striking on a bell, missing silk suspended pendulum, waisted boulle inlaid case surmounted by a putto on a cloud, adorned throughout with gilt bronze scrolls and flowers, glazed sides and shaped front door, the whole raised on rococo feet

Condition

dial somewhat dirty, numeral 40 replaced, replaced hands, movement able to funcion but might benefit from a clean, restored verge, repaired pendulum suspension, middle pillar broken, countwheel with repair, case overall dirty but in reasonable condition, the whole needs to be cleaned and therefore difficult to establish the condition of the gilding, front door lacking its pierced ornament, pendulum and winder lacking
