  • A collection of eighteen articulated "Alice" painted wooden figures
Eighteen pieces after the John Tenniel illustrations for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass comprising: White Rabbit, Frog Footman, Fish Footman, March Hare, Dormouse, the Hatter, Cook, Duchess, Mock Turtle, White Rabbit (with trumpet and parchment), King, Walrus, Carpenter, Tweedledum and Tweedledee (both in battle dress), Humpty Dumpty, White King and Queen, each cut to profile outline and brightly painted with pinned joints, average height 80mm.

These articulated figures are thought to have been manufactured by Talfourd Toys, based in Reigate, Surrey and to date from the mid 1920s. A collection of 31 figures, formerly in the possession of Alice Liddell, sold in these rooms ("Lewis Carroll's Alice"), 6 June 2001 for £6,500.
