Catalogue Note

Also present is the original prospectus printed by the Cuala Press.

See printing and colouring details in Miller pp. 120-121. Yeats contributes The Wicked Hawthorne Tree in #2 (first published here); The Rose Tree in #5 (from Wade 127); The Soldier Takes Pride in #12 (from Wade 179). The total number printed was limited to 300, 200 of which were issued monthly as here, and 100, issued in a bound volume in December of 1935. Although issued in a larger number, a complete set of the individual monthly 'first' issues is rarer than the bound volume.
