Only fifty copies of this first edition were issued in order to secure the American copyright. Two copies were entered at the Library of Congress on June 9, 1908. The Golden Helmet was first produced at the Abbey on March 19 of 1908 (Yeats took a curtain-call). The only other publication of The Golden Helmet was in the 1908 collected works (Volume 4, Wade 78). This issue is a notable Yeats rarity.
