Catalogue Note

A very early Yeats work, compiled about the time of The Countess Kathleen and The Celtic Twilight. Other than the various versions of Fairies and Folk Tales, which Yeats co-edited, this is the second book listed by Wade after Stories from Carleton (Wade 214).  An unusually bright set of an ambitious project which was doomed to fall short of its aims, but, almost incidentally, became a triumph of book production.
