Lady Augusta Gregory's note reads "These 7 issues were given to me by the Rt Hon Wm Bailey, because the three for May, June & July contain the first publication of 'The Island of Statues' - & these have now been signed for me by Yeats. A. Gregory - Coole Co[unty] Cl[are] - 1922". In fact, the play starts in the April issue, and all four parts of it are signed by Yeats.
In addition, the March issue contains the poems "Song of the Faeries" and "Voices", and the May edition contains "Love and Death". taken together, the poems and play constitute yeats's earliest published work.
