Description

  • A Chalcidian Black-figured Amphora
  • Height 11 5/8 in. 29.5 cm.
one side painted with two confronted seated lions each with raised paw and curling tail, the other decorated with two lions attacking an equine, the shoulder painted on each side with two horned grazing quadrupeds flanking an owl, rays above the foot, a wavy line encircling the neck, the details in added red.
