Catalogue Note
Karl Heubler was a teacher at the Reimann School in Berlin from 1905 to 1943, where he taught the metalwork class and was head of the metal workshop. Under his direction, the Reimann School developed into one of the most progressive institutes for modern design and it became one of the most important art schools in Germany, along with the Bauhaus and the Burg Giebichenstein. Examples of his work can be found in the collection of the Bauhaus Museum, Dessau.
"Executed by the Reimann School Workshops" has come to be synonymous with a personal interpretation of the modern spirit.
