Catalogue Note

rare first edition of this collection of economic writings by Davanzati (1529-1606), a Florentine merchant and historian of the English Reformation. It includes his two most famous economic writings: Lezione delle monete (first published in 1588), which contains an analysis of the mechanics of exchange and an explanation of the commercial vocabulary of the period; and Notizia de cambi (first published in 1582), written at the request of the Accademia Fiorentina for a solution to the monetary disorder of the period.
