Catalogue Note
The Latin translation and notes are by the Hebraist and cosmologist Sebastian Munster (1478-1552) whose work fascinated and vexed Luther in equal measure as is clear from Luther's frequent, and occasionally scathing, references to Munster's scholarship throughout his Genesis lectures (1535-1545).
