first edition of Arnobius's apologetic work, written during the reign of the Emperor Diocletian, and his only surviving work. It should be in only seven books, the eighth containing the Octavius of Minucius Felix which appears at the end of Arnobius's text in the ninth-century manuscript on which this edition is based.
The printer, Francesco Priscianese, was originally a schoolteacher and humanist in Figline near Arezzo, before coming to Rome. He was active between 1542 and 1546, when he sold his press.
