Catalogue Note

presentation copies of the first editions of sainte-beuve's first two collections of poetry. Both works are inscribed by Sainte-Beuve to fellow-poet Emile Deschamps (1791-1871), to whom one of the poems of Les Consolations is dedicated. The first collection was published anonymously as the posthumous work of a young poet friend, Joseph Delorme.
