Condition

The colour brighter than appears in the catalogue. The red candles almost flourescent pink, the green and yellow much more vivid. Short fold and creases across the entire surface of the painting. Some minor areas of loss to the paper at the edges, the most major areas being a loss to the top right corner where an approx 11 by 5cm triangle is missing (visible in catalogue image), with a nearby smaller patch on the right edge, approx 3cm; and a triangular section in the bottom right corner, approx 3 by 2.5cm. A small rip to the paper in the bottom left, to the left of the left hand candle, approx 1cm. Such condition is typical of the artist's work.
