En mai-juin 1976, Martial Raysse réunit, sous le titre Loco Bello, un certain nombre de dessins et de peintures réalisés depuis 1973 qu'il présente à la galerie Karl Flinker.
Chaque image, symbolisant une saison, représente un arbre dont le feuillage est peuplé de petits personnages, animaux et êtres hybrides. Le fond de ces peintures reste blanc, la feuille de papier est toujours froissée et roulée sur les bords.
