Condition
Colours: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the background in (i) tends more towards cream and the background in (ii) tends more towards ivory white. The overall tonality is more vibrant in both originals.
Condition: (i) This work is in good condition. Executed on white wove paper. The sheet undulates slightly and curls at the side edges. There is a light diagonal crease across the top right corner. There are several media marks towards the centre of the lower edge and ink splashes throughout, probably intrinsic to the artist's working process.
(ii) This work is in very good condition. Executed on white wove paper. There is a very faint rub mark at the centre left of the figure's forehead. There is a further rub mark on the right extreme edge, approximately 10cm. down from the top right corner.
