Colours: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the areas of colour on the photograph are brighter in the original.
Condition: This work is in good condition. The sheet is securely attached in places on the reverse to the backing board. There is minor wear to all four corner tips. There is very slight undulation to the sheet. There are two light creases towards the lower left corner and a further small vertical crease to the centre top edge of the upper left quadrant. There is a vertical crease approximately 7cm. long to the centre top edge at the top of the figure's head, visible in a raking light. There are a few minute tears along the extreme right edge. There is a tiny indentation above the figure's left eyebrow, visible under very close inspection. There is a tiny watermark towards the centre of the top right hand quadrant, visible only upon close inspection. There are very faint handling marks and rub marks on the left hand side of the composition and towards the bottom right hand corner, probably inherent to the artist's working process.
