Condition

Colours: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although there are more pink overtones in the original and the dark areas of pigment tend more towards midnight blue. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There are three tiny media accrections; one in the centre left of the top right hand corner and a further two towards the top centre of the upper right hand corner. There are several light handling marks on the overlaps and at the extreme edges. There are signs of craquelure along all four edges, notably to the dark pigment at the top and lower right edges. There are drying cracks to the white area of paint at the top centre of the lower right hand quadrant. No restoration is apparent under ultra-violet light.
