Condition

Colours: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is much warmer in the original and tends more towards a rich cream. Condition: This work is in very good condition. Executed on white laid paper and hinged to the backing board in places along all four edges. There are artist's pinholes in all four corners. There is slight undulation towards all four edges. There are three minute spots of foxing to the right section of the composition; one towards the top right and corner, one just above the figure's right shoulder and one towards the bottom section of the right hand edge. There are a few faint handling marks in places along all four edges which appear to be inherent to the artist's working process. There is a minor spot of paper skinning to the top right hand corner and a small area of discoloration to the top left hand corner. There is some minor wear to the bottom left hand corner and three minute nicks along the upper left hand side edge, inherent to the artist's working process.
