Condition

Colours: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is more vibrant in the original. The darker paint tends more towards a deep berry and the pink tends more towards purple in the original. The background also tends more towards a soft cream in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There are minor rub marks in all four corners and in places along the right and bottom edges. There are fine hairline cracks along the extreme bottom edge and in the top and bottom right corners, visible only upon very close inspection. There is a tiny loss of paint towards the centre of the bottom extreme edge. There are a few faint impressions towards the centre of the bottom edge. There are several faint rub marks in the darker area of paint towards the centre of the composition. There is a light layer of dust adhering to the surface of the darkest area of paint. There are two small rub marks with associated paint loss towards the bottom right of the top left quadrant. There is a further very faint rub mark towards the top right hand corner. No restoration is apparent under ultra-violet light.
