Condition

Colours: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is richer and deeper in the original work. Condition: There is wear to the upper two and lower left corners of the composition. Upon very close inspection there is a very fine tension crack running parallel to the centre of the right and left turnover edges. There is a minute indentation 2cm above the centre of the right edge, only visible upon extremely close inspection. There is a tiny white speck of media accretion to the extreme upper right corner. There are several minute flyspots to the fingers of the figure's right hand, and a fine 3cm craquelure to the finger's of the figure's left hand. There is no evidence of any retouching when examined under ultraviolet light.
