Condition
Colours: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is warmer and richer in the original, with deeper contrasts and more saturated colours. The paper tone tends more towards beige in the original.
Condition: Each work is in very good condition and is attached to a backing board at intervals along the edges:
(i)-(iv) The sheet is very slightly undulated, likely to be original to the type of handwove paper used by the artist. There are a number of very light creases, brown fibres and minute light media accretions scattered in places throughout, all of which appear to be original to the work's execution. There are a few tiny pinhead-sized media spots scattered around the margins of each plate.
(i) There is an unobtrusive watermark to the pink paint in the bottom left hand corner.
(iii) There is minor paint shrinkage to some of the thicker areas of brown gouache.
