Condition
Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is deeper and richer in the original where the blacks reds are stronger and the pale pink patches are warmer
Condition: This work is in very good condition. The canvas is slightly slack overall resulting in a light canvas draw to the lower left corner and a fine stretcher mark towards the top edge. There is minor wear to the corner tips of the canvas and in places along the bottom edge. A very fine craquelure is visible in the bottom right corner of the upper right quadrant of the composition. There is a faint 9cm diagonal rub mark on the dense black paint in the centre of the upper left quadrant of the work. There is no retouching apparent when examined under ultra-violet.
