Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is slightly richer in the original work. Condition: This work is very good condition. There is very minor wear and frame rubbing in the upper right corner and in several places along the extreme top and bottom edges. There is a very fine matrix of stable craquelure to some of the dark blue paint beneath the top edge. There is a tiny drying crack to the pale blue paint to the right of the animal's eye in the upper centre of the composition. There are several specks of paint loss along the extreme top and bottom turnover edges. There is a minute spot of retouching to the top edge approximately ten centimetres from the upper right corner, and one to the lower right section of the dark blue paint in the lower centre of the composition, both of which fluoresce when examined under ultraviolet light.
