Condition

Colours: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is much stronger and more vibrant in the actual work, especially the yellows and greens. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is minor wear to the upper left and lower left corners with associated tiny losses to the extreme tips. There are further tiny losses to some of the finest impasto peaks. There are scattered stable craquelure in places to the centre and centre right of the composition. As is visible in the catalogue illustration there are further craquelure to the areas of black paint in the lower composition, some of which have raised edges and are lifting slightly. There are several small areas of stabilization to the paint surface in this area that fluoresce when examined under ultra-violet light. There is no retouching apparent.
