Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is deeper and richer in the original. The colours of the central spheres tend more towards emerald, purple and sky blue. Condition: This work is in very good condition. Upon close inspection there are a few spots of minor wear in places at the extreme edges. There four fine lines of craquelure: one horizontal line towards the bottom right corner of the lower left quadrant; two towards the left edge (one approximately 30cm from the top corner & one approximately 7cm below this); and one in the lower right quadrant approximately 10cm from the bottom left corner. There are very few pinhead size specks of media accretion, notably five spots in the lower left quadrant approximately 20cm diagonally from the bottom right corner. There is no retouching apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.
