This work belongs to the Today series and is sold with the original handmade cardboard box containing a newspaper clipping from April 8th 1978.
“The information has an autobiographic nature, in particular the character of a ‘diary’… [On Kwara] cites a number of factual events as … means of making ‘time’ real and giving it structure ... The events acquire their own reality, detached from the reality they come from … The paintings are kept in self-made cardboard boxes with a section from a local newspaper posted inside. [It] connects the painting with the existing reality …”
