Condition

This work is in good condition. The paper has yellowed slightly with age recto -particularly at the edges where there is evidence of faint matte burn. At the lower right corner edge there is a crease measuring approximately 1 in. in length. There is an area of discoloration measuring 2 1/5 in. in circumference at the lower edge of the heel of the shoe. There are scattered spots of losses to the gold leaf and one foil floral element is lost of the shoe. The paper has evidence of adhesive verso that has oxidized with age and is discolored throughout. This is not visible recto but has left the paper stiff as opposed to supple. The sheet is cornered into the matte and framed under Plexiglas.
