Catalogue Note
"The unity, the oneness of these elements is Judd's theme. And it is only logical that they do not exist separately for him. Form cannot exist without content, and content cannot exist without form: thus there exists neither the content of something nor the form of something, but rather solely the concrete object itself which inseparably unites these two elements."
Jochen Poetter, Hermetic and Open - Precision and Beauty, Donald Judd at the Kunsthalle Baden-Baden, 1989, p. 43.
The other example is in the Collection of The Museum of Modern Art, New York (gift of Phillip Johnson, New Caanan, Connecticut).
