Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. Framed under Plexiglas in the original artist's wood frame. The frame exhibits evidence of wear with scattered areas of loss to the finish. There are surface scratches to the printed paper and light soiling - presumably inherent to the artists' working method of collage. On the reverse, the label with the artist's signature is lifting from the backing board along the top and there is evidence of skinning to the paper where the adhesive binding the label to the backing board has lifted.

Catalogue Note

The inscription on the reverse refers to the consignor's grandfather, Archer Ward Jagger, Jr. (brother in law to the artist), who was a sailor and passed away three years prior to the date the present work was executed.
