Condition

Colours: The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration, although the overall tonality is brighter, more vibrant , with the paper tone tending more towards creamy yellow-beige, the purple-blue spirals more to electric blue, and the yellow to a deeper and richer hue in the original. Condition: The work is in very good condition and is securely attached to the mount by an adhesive strip attached to the reverse of the top edge. There is a horizontal band of time staining to the centre of the top edge, likely the result of the adhesive mounting strip verso. There is light time staining to all four edges, probably from previous framing. Brown framing tape has been applied verso to all four edges and extends beyond the sheet in places, visible to parts of the extreme edges recto. The edges are slightly uneven, notably the upper right corner. In raking light a very small light crease to the left of the top right circle is visible. There is a tiny short tear to the upper centre of the right extreme edge which is stabilised by the framing tape adhering to the reverse.
