Condition
Colours:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the grey coloured pencil throughout the sitter's shirt tends more towards turquoise blue and the reds more to pink in the original. The paper tone is brighter and creamier in the original.
Condition:
The work is in very good condition, it is securely hinged to the mount at all four corners. The bottom left, right and the upper right extreme corner tips are bending inwards slightly. There is some very pale and unobtrusive time-staining around the extreme edges and a few minute nicks aound the very extreme edges. There is a very small light crease to the lower left corner and a faint fingerprint mark to the centre of the left extreme edge. There is an extremely pale watermark to the top section of the left extreme edge and another to the lower left corner. There appears to be two tiny pinhead-sized pencil spots in the upper right corner.
