Condition

Colours: The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration, although the overall tonality is slightly deeper and richer in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is light wear to all four corners and in scattered areas throughout the fabric as well as to some places on all of the books which appears to be original to the work's execution. There is a hairline crack to the plaster adjoining the two books in the upper left hand quadrant, two to the plaster adjoining the black book to the base and one to the plaster adjoining the red to the black book towards right centre of the composition.
