Condition
Colours:
The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration although the overall tonality is brighter and more vibrant in the original. The catalogue illustration fails to convey the pink and purple hues tot he white pigment at the right hand edge of the composition.
Condition:
The work is in very good condition. There is a minor network of stable craquelure, some with raised edges, to the white impasto paint towards the top left hand corner. There are a few isolated hairline cracks scattered in places towards the centre of the composition. There is a minor spot of wear to the bottom right and bottom left hand corner tips. Minor shrinkage appears to the black paint in most places to the composition, most notably to the top right hand corner and towards the centre of the right hand edge. No restoration is apparent under ultraviolet light.
