Colours:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate althgouh the overall tonality is slightly richer and deeper in the original.
Condition:
The work is in good condition. Each of the four corners are very slightly rubbed and there is an associated small media loss to the upper right corner. An intermittent line of tape is adhering to the surface of the upper extreme edge. There are a few tiny media losses to the left side of this edge where the tape has been removed. A few further extremely minor losses are visible on close inspection, including to the top part and to the centre of the left edge. There are light networks of craquelure to the upper left and right quadrants and a few further small isolated fine surface cracks in places to the lower quadrants and the edges. Light scattered spots of blooming are visible on the surface of thicker strokes of pigment throughout the work. A number of small media accretions can be discerned on close examination to the lower left quadrant and towards the top of the left edge. Under ultraviolet light there are three small retouchings to the left of the upper edge, two spots to the left side of the lower extreme edge and a small intermittent line of retouching to the top of the left edge.
