Condition

Colours: The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration, although the overall tonality is slightly deeper and richer in the original. Condition: The work is in good condition. There is slight canvas draw to the upper left and right corners. A small rub mark with some associated pinprick-sized specks of paint loss is visible to the very top of the extreme left and right edges. There is a further tiny spot of paint loss to the upper right corner tip. There are scattered matrices of minor surface cracking, some in spiral networks, throughout the composition visible upon close inspection. There are some very fine and unobtrusive stable hairline tension cracks at intervals to each extreme overturn edge. Upon close examination, a few scattered pinprick-sized fly spots and some minor media accretions can be discerned in places throughout the composition. No restoration is apparent under ultraviolet light.
