Condition

Colours: The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration, although the overall tonality is slightly deeper and richer with the blue in the centre of the composition tending more towards bright violet-blue. The pastel colours in each of the four corners are much brighter in the original. Condition: The work is in very good condition. In raking light there are two lines (one vertical, one diagonal) of transparent media to the right vertical section of the work and an extremely faint and very small rub mark to the upper right quadrant. There is a very fine and stable hairline crack to the green painted square in the upper right section of the lower left quadrant. There is a short stroke of red paint in the lower left quadrant which fluoreces slightly under ultraviolet light.
